Parte videoclipe, parte arte interativa, "Necessary Explosion" é um novo aplicativo criado pelo Departamento de Novas Realidades da W + K Amsterdam, em colaboração com The Lodge (grupo de tecnologia criativa da W + K Portland), que usa reconhecimento de áudio para mostrar esculturas usando a técnica de realidade aumentada.
O aplicativo “ouve” as 11 faixas do SOS, álbum de estréia do artista de Amsterdã, Necessary Explosion, e mostra esculturas em realidade aumentada exclusivas que giram no topo do disco de vinil. Também pode ser usado sem o disco. Aproximando o telefone ou o tablet a qualquer dispositivo que toque o conteúdo do disco permite acionar as esculturas. Fiz o teste e funcionou. Os usuários podem se envolver ainda mais com as esculturas movendo-se ao redor delas, pois as animações baseadas em proximidade reagem quando você se aproxima ou se afasta.
